Faculty of Port Engineering is one of the oldest faculties of our university - it is more than 70 years old. Its first name was The Faculty of Ports Mechanization. The faculty has received its current name in 2013.
The faculty trains mechanical engineers, whose activities include ensuring high-performance of trans-shipment technology, maintenance, reliability and safety of port equipment, development of new constructions of machines and technologies of transshipment processes, introduction of efficient operating modes of machines, improvement of the level of complex mechanization and automation of reloading robots, organization of production training and advanced training of port workers. Full-time and part-time forms of education are available.
Among the graduates of the faculty are chiefs of ports, shipping companies, directors of ship repair yards, chief engineers of many industry enterprises. Almost all innovations in the educational process at the faculty are carried out in accordance with the recommendations of the ports.
Specialists from the British Institute of Marine Engineers who accredited the technical faculties of ONMU highly appreciated the work of the faculty. It was one of the first, to be accredited and now graduate diploma is officially recognized in all maritime countries.
The laboratory base is equipped with unique educational facilities and allows providing high-quality practical training of future specialists. The Faculty is the main base for the training of engineers-mechanics for the ports of the country and the field of operation of lifting and transport equipment, mechanization and automation of reloading processes.
